Dear Family and Friends,

As most of you know the Robertson household has done an “extreme makeover” of our nutrition,  health and well being since September. Our journey began with Georgianna not eating and sleeping, Ryan showing signs of possible diabetes and symptoms for a possible heart attack, and Melinda constantly sick and not able to regain health. In September Melinda gotten a severe tongue infection that halted all eating, pain up the face and neck and a tongue so swollen she could hardly swallow. At the same time we had looked into naturopathic care (medical doctors striving to find the cause of disease by understanding the body, mind, and spirit of the person) for the girls and had already started testing for Georgie & Melinda. To make a long story short, we had found out some not so good news, but as typical character, God has turned them into blessings and a passion. So we are “healing” with food and some additional supplements made from natural ingredients and all of us Robertsons would say that we’ve never felt, or looked, better!

So previously to changing our dietary lifestyle listed below are some symptoms that we were dealing with and now within 5 short months no longer exist:

Sleep apnea
Night terrors
Chronic fatigue
Fibromyalgia
Low energy
Headaches
Soreness behind eye
Dry Eyes
Asthma
Depression
Anxiety
Hyperglycemic
Yeast rashes
Eczema
Brain fog/ not retaining memory
Endometriosis
Candida
Bloating
Chronic constipation
High levels cholesterol
High levels triglycerides
High blood pressure
Food addictions
Moodiness
Heartburn/ acid reflux
Body fat

Wow we were a mess! If you have any of these symptoms and more (like diabetes, MS & other autoimmune diseases, heart disease, Alzheimer’s/Dementia, cancer, or obesity) we are here to tell you that you don’t have to live that way any longer. No, we are not physicians or nutritionists, but we are people that have cured many issues and have taken great interest in studying from those that have done all the gritty scientific work for us. Our reason for sharing this with you is to encourage you to take hold of your health and that if you have any issue(s) going on that it can improve starting your with diet.

So what are we doing? What are we striving for?
We are now eating a Whole Grain Plant-Based diet. That means we consume healthy whole grains, vegetables, fruits and legumes, while abstaining from all animal-based products and refined foods. (Well, to be honest Ryan does it 90% of the time as he still has some chicken, turkey or beef.) Unfortunately due to food allergies Melinda & Georgianna are more restricted. We no longer count calories or fat intake as isn’t needed. For the first time in probably 15 years Melinda didn’t put down on her New Year’s Resolution list to loose weight! Ryan has lost 26 pounds and Melinda 19. But losing weight was just an added bonus. We are striving to heal our bodies, which unaware to us really needed a lot of it. Keep in mind that all these changes were done without exercise (too cold to go walking with the girls!). Which leads me to what we are striving for next: exercise, soaking up the sunshine, being kind to our selves and others, and having a really big vegetable garden!

If what you’re doing isn’t quite working for you and/or are interested in seeing what we have been enlightened to, below are some documentaries, literature and web sites that can help guide you. Of course we are willing to discuss with you our journey and any knowledge we’ve acquired.

We are so grateful to those that have seen us through these past months and have kept us in prayer, as it has been somewhat of an isolating transition and experience (dealing with health issues & allergies). But even though we are restricted, and still healing, we are freer than ever before!

Blessings,

Ryan, Melinda, Georgianna & Evangeline
